Régie du terminal à conteneurs – Port of Douala
Cameroon
The challenge
Rehabilitation of the most degraded critical zones (lots 1 to 5) in the container terminal using PRS geotextiles and Neoloy® Geocells. The project improved load-bearing capacity for container traffic, reduced erosion, and extended the service life of the terminal’s infrastructure.
How we responded
Deployment
RoadVision applied a combined system of PRS geotextiles and Neoloy® Geocells across the container terminal’s critical lots. Layers were reinforced to handle heavy container traffic and repetitive loads, with precise installation ensuring uniform stress distribution. This approach delivered a stronger, more resilient pavement structure while optimizing maintenance cycles and overall operational efficiency.
Results
- Strengthened subgrades with geosynthetics
- Resistance to heavy loads and repetitive stress
- Reduced rutting and maintenance costs
- Improved operational safety in container handling
Testimonials
“The Port Authority of Douala entrusted us with building parking areas and roadways in a mangrove zone. By using Geocell technology, we were able to stabilize the soil, cut down on replacement materials, and achieve nearly 30% savings on the overall pavement cost.”
